Swimming and water sports around Kaltern by the lake
It should be obvious, but we’ll say it anyway: Lake Kaltern is a must for all those seeking summer refreshment – you absolutely have to jump in at least once! But Kaltern and its surroundings have oceans to offer when it comes to water fun... :-)
Enjoy an ice cream, doze in the summer sun, jump into the cool waters and swim in Lake Kaltern – maybe even across it? Guests at the Hotel Goldener Stern benefit from reduced admission to the Gretl am See lido on the lake. And, if that’s not enough, you can swim in and relax by the two Montiggl lakes – one large, one small – by the hamlet of Montiggl in the neighbouring municipality of Eppan. There are also popular mountain lakes, such as the Fennberg Lake, the Wolfsgruben Lake on the Ritten plateau above Bozen and the Völser Weiher below the Schlern massif. And there is of course our outdoor pool – right in the heart of Kaltern yet away from the village hubbub.
Windsurfing, stand-up paddling, canyoning or kayaking – there is much more than “mere” swimming here in South Tyrol’s south! Our reception can provide you with detailed information on which water sports are offered and where. So come on in – the water’s lovely!
